We realize the educational value of hands on experience. Green Life Academy is always on the look out for volunteers.
Do you have a special talent or skill? Are you interested in volunteering to share your trade with today’s youth? Whether it be gardening, carpenter work, crafts, outdoor skills or martial arts, we’d love to have you as a helper or guest speaker at the school. I’ve been living in Costa Rica for the last 5 months or so, and have just recently moved to Playas del Coco. I noticed your lovely school the very first time we drove into town and was wondering if there was any way in which I could help out and contribute to Green Life Academy?
My principle skills are on the creative side – I’ve been a graphic designer for the last 20+ years and have extensive computer skills.
I’m also a qualified massage therapist (not sure how that could fit in with school life?? Although teaching children simple massage strokes on each other has proven to be very beneficial, especially when practiced every morning before lessons!)
I have some basic teaching skills: a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and have been a staff trainer in a past life! However, I’d be more than happy to help out in any capacity … even if it’s just an extra pair of hands when needed.
